McKesson’s Lytec MD Receives 08 CCHIT Certification

ATLANTA, May 19, 2009 – The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT®) today announced that Lytec MD is a CCHIT Certified® 08 Ambulatory EHR and meets the Certification Commission’s electronic health record (EHR) criteria for office-based use. The software also is certified for Child Health. Ambulatory EHRs are designed for physician offices and clinics where most Americans get their healthcare. Lytec 2008 Now Available, Compatible with Microsoft Vista
McKesson recently announced availability of its Lytec 2008® solution. The 2008 release adds to Lytec’s legacy of providing easy-to-use features with customizable patient scheduling and enhanced reporting tools that give practices more insight into their operations and financial status. The release also offers integration with McKesson’s Practice Partner® electronic health record (EHR) solution as well as electronic data interchange (EDI) and consumer-facing solutions powered by RelayHealth, McKesson’s connectivity services company. Medicare NPI Deadline March 1, 2008
As of May 28, 2008, the NPI is required for all HIPAA Standard Transactions. On all HIPAA electronic transactions, paper claims and SPR remittance advice, NPI must be used in primary and secondary provider fields. Medicare legacy identifiers in the primary or secondary fields will are no longer accepted and will result in rejection of the transaction.
