LYTEC 2008 NOW AVAILABLE, COMPATIBLE WITH MICROSOFT VISTA

McKesson recently announced availability of its Lytec 2008® solution. The 2008 release adds to Lytec’s legacy of providing easy-to-use features with customizable patient scheduling and enhanced reporting tools that give practices more insight into their operations and financial status. The release also offers integration with McKesson’s Practice Partner® electronic health record (EHR) solution as well as electronic data interchange (EDI) and consumer-facing solutions powered by RelayHealth, McKesson’s connectivity services company. These articles contain detailed descriptions of various problems you may encounter, and step-by-step instructions on how to correct those problems. Most of the articles contain screen shots that allow you to see exactly what it is you should be doing.

MEDICARE NPI DEADLINE MARCH 1, 2008

As of March 1, 2008, claims without an NPI in the primary provider field (i.e., the billing, pay-to and rendering fields) will be rejected. For more information on the Medicare NPI deadline or to test your Medicare Claims, visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) NPI Overview site.

LYTEC 2008 Workstation System Requirements (recommended):
Equivalent to Pentium 4 3.0Ghz processor or higher, 4GB of available hard disk space, 2GB RAM, 32bit color display, DVD drive.

Workstation Operating system (required):
Windows XP Professional SP2 or higher, Windows Vista Business.

Server System Requirements (recommended):
Equivalent to Pentium 4 3.6Ghz processor or higher, 6GB of available hard drive space, 4GB RAM, 32bit color display, DVD drive.

Server Operating System (required):
Client/Server: Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server (Enterprise or Standard editions) with latest service packs.

Multi-User/ Professional: Windows XP Professional SP2 or higher, Windows Vista Business.

Network (recommended):
Gigabit full-duplex 10/100/1000 Ethernet router/switch using CAT5e (or CAT6) Ethernet cable. Consult with a licensed network vendor for proper wiring for your business computing environment. Wireless networks are not recommended. If a wireless network is the only option we suggest, at the minimum, an 802.11G wireless network.

Lytec 2006 and Lytec 2007 do not currently function with the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. Therefore, we cannot make any guarantee of, or warranty the stability or functionality of, any version of Lytec used in conjunction with Microsoft Windows Vista. We will be conducting compatibility testing and will provide updates as they become available.
